Not sure why this place had such great reviews. We were really disappointed. They have a lot of unique flavored donuts if that’s what you want. We did get a pineapple fritter that was probably the best thing we ordered. The lady answered our questions but it wasn’t busy just us and another couple came in a few minutes later. She didn’t offer any help whatsoever. Ambiance isn’t great so we sat inside the old warehouse. If tables were outside it would have been nice.
This bakery makes the best donuts, malasadas and cinnamon rolls on the island. By far.
The donuts were fine. They had cool flavors to try and they tasted good but 6.50 a piece? Thats a little pricy and there's no prices posted on the menu. We ordered a selection of 4 donuts and 1 Malasada and paid 32$.
Would not give a star.. hours of operation states open till 3 pm but it was closed at 2 pm!
Outstanding. The Malasadas were hands down the best in Kona. Especially when you factor in the variety of flavors available! Me and my wife got 1 of each flavor (13 total including plain) and 1 Crème Brulé filled donut. And let me tell you, they were all filled to the max! The bakers were very kind and talked about how they make basically all of the fillings with local fruit. When we ordered they offered to label the box so we knew which flavor was where. This was really nice of them although it took some time and I did feel bad holding up the line, but they had no issue with it thankfully. This establishment is in a food court which isn’t bad at all, it had plenty of seating and at 8am they were the only open business so it was very calm inside. Upon trying each flavor, me and my wife came up with a couple favorites and I will list them below. My favorites: Ube Malasada Mango Malasada Lilikoi Malasada My wife’s favorites: Custard Malasada Mango Malasada Although those were our favorites, they were basically all amazing! The ones I could have personally gone without were the plain (no filling) and the banana, which had more of a plantain flavor. Great food and experience, 10/10 highly recommend, thank you to the kind people who served us!
