Trout Town Tavern Eatery - Kalkaska

We were excited to try this place. I usually never bash on local restaurants but? It started off pretty decent. 20min wait until we were greeted at the front, then the drinks? they gave us the wrong drinks and then the lemonade and raspberry drinkboth tasted like water with a slight hint of syrup, our cheeseburger had no cheese(both orders), the perch was not very crispyand served on the cooler side with the insides being a bit mushy, my rootbeer float that was supposed to come in a ice cold mugcame in a plastic cup, and our server kept forgetting to bring us water(they asked us if we needed anything and we would asknicely for water). Bummed about the experience since there aren?t to many options around the area on the way home from lookingat the fall colors. The best thing we had there was the Dirty Tots!

We stopped by here on our way to somewhere else. The lunch specials were all different Ruben sandwiches. We each got one and they were excellent. Very meaty. The fries were perfectly done. Nothing was greasy or soggy. Our waitress, Shantal, great.Friendly and efficient. The water and coffee tasted great, too! Everything was spotlessly clean, including the bathrooms.

Shout out to Gina! Excellent service! Perch was amazing. Just crispy and delicious. Ribs were very good. Needed a little more sauce. Cole slaw was Excellent, great seasonings!

This is a must visit. The pulled pork and sauces ere some of the best I 've ever had. I 'm a coleslaw connoisseur and can I say this is by the BEST I 've tried. I should have ordered to bring some home. My husband got to smothered brisket, that did notdissapoint as well. Would visit again hands down! There sodas on tap are pretty good too, I 'm not normally one for the homemade sodas. But I would drink again.

It was a very busy Saturday evening and almost didn?t go in due to the parking lot being packed. We were greeted right when we walked in and sat. The staff worked together amazingly and the hostess was very nice. The food was great and a good drink menu.It?s a great place for dining with family or a date night.
