Kalona Coffee House

The coffee is very good, but the service is very lacking in customer interaction. Very impersonal interaction for sure. Also, no sense of urgency when completing orders. Can't say that I will be going back. But if you don't care about anything except getting a coffee and leaving, it will be your place.

I love the monthly drink specials. My favorites are the strawberry shortcake and autumn delight. The staff is always friendly and drinks are served quickly. I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so.

My favorite are the cranberry scones. They carry them all year, not just at the holidays.

This little coffee shop is a hive of activity in this quaint little town where they must value it highly. I stop here every time I'm in Kalona as it's a quick option for hot coffee for my drove back to Cedar Rapids. The coffee is good. The counter help is mostly disinterested. I wouldn't say it's dirty but it's also not the cleanest. But this may be to their high volume of traffic. I have never had the food so I really should comment as N/A but I can see that it's the standard fare of scones and muffins. They do have a nice display of the amazing chocolates from the Kalona Chocolate Shop which is just around the corner from this shop and well worth the visit.
