For our supper meal, we decided to eat at Jasper's Italian Restaurant. It was after 5:00 P. M. and did not have a reservation but took a chance. They did not disappoint us, they warmly welcomed us and seated us immediately. Our server was most attentive and try his best to fulfill our every wish. My 10 year old grandson wanted mozzarella sticks and our server explained to him that was not on the menu but had fried ravioli, he loved it. There were so many dishes to choose from and we finally made up our minds. When our food arrived and I took that first bite, I thought I had died and went to heaven, so delicious. The chef came out of the kitchen to see if everything was okay and of course, we told him it certainly was. We highly recommend trying this restaurant and even though we are from out-of-town, I definitely will come back.
After reading the reviews I have found the bad reviews to be totally wrong. My wife and I just returned home from Jasper's and let me tell you, it was great. The staff was excellent and we even met the owner. The menu is quite extensive and took me a bit to decide on a dish. My wife had the Tortellini Romano and I had the Ravioli Di Ricotta with meatballs and Italian sausage added. Both meals were excellent presentation and flavor wise. The serving size was quite generous. For dessert my wife had Cannolis and I had Torta Di Mele which were also very good. With our drinks and all the additions our ticket was $108 which I find reasonable for an upscale restaurant. You WILL need to make a reservation as they are quite busy and fill up fast. I think the only gripe I found to be somewhat true was the carpet does need replaced but who goes to a restaurant to examine the carpet? Definitely going back again!!!
The hostess staff were a little stuffy at first, but warmed up quickly. We didn’t have a reservation, but they were able to seat us fairly quickly. I liked that they politely told my son that he had to remove his ball cap- always better relieved when it’s not mom saying it! It was very hot where we were sitting, the waitress agreed and turned down the heat. Our waitress was funny and she was really fast. We were her last table and we knew she wanted to get out of there and we had kids with us, so the fast service was appreciated. She made recommendations that were spot on. Everyone in our group liked their meal. The escargot was very good. We tried 4 different desserts and all were excellent. Although I didn’t care for the pumpkin cannoli, but the traditional was wonderful! Would definitely go back if in the area again!
Host was rude and food was average at best. This place has gone downhill. Will not return or recommend
Slow service, mediocre food, awful Caesar salad that we didn 't find out until after the fact that it wasn 't included with the mediocre entree and charged us $8.00 for it. Overpriced, pretentious, and misleading. The icing on the cake was when the server informed us that under no circumstances could he split our checks up with a party of six. The last thing you want to do after a meal at a restaurant is sit there for half an hour figuring out the check, especially when we 'd been there for two hours and a couple of people had to leave early. When I brought it to the owner 's attention, he childishly stormed off into the kitchen with a huff after giving me an earful about how he couldn 't deal with me when I had simply brought these things to his attention. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Just because you 've been doing something for 70 years the same way, doesn 't mean you should be doing it the same way 70 years later. Either get into the 21st century and treat your customers with respect, or get out of the business. I can 't believe all the good reviews this dump is getting. We will NEVER be back.
