Granny’s Kitchen - Kenansville

I realize it was one hour before closing. However the food should still be hot. BBQ chicken was okay. The fried chicken however was lukewarm and not fully cooked. Had to remove several plates to find a clean one to eat with as well.

I have always liked this restaurant until today. I was told there was no white meat chicken because it was too expensive. my bill for the buffet was 10.69. The ribs were cooked too fast and were tough, the pork chops were fried in old oil that i could taste. I will not be back anytime soon. Sorry to see a great restaurant go bad.

Had an amazing experience during a time of loss. The wait staff was super friendly and did an amazing good. The food was far better than I expected. Highly recommended and look forward for going back

The pork chops were absolutely fantastic. The collard greens weren't greasy, but they were a bit too salty for my taste. The rutabagas were cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, the apple pie was a letdown; it tasted like it had just been defrosted and the crust was quite soggy. On the other hand, my mom loved the pineapple cake. My brother thought the pecan pie was just okay and shared the same feelings about the apple pie. As for the staff, they were outstanding, and I would rate them five stars. Would I recommend this place? Yes, I definitely would. Everyone can have an off day, so who knows what the next visit will bring!

Please keep in mind that the reviews you're reading pertain to the restaurant that was there before Granny's opened. First off, it’s quite different from what it used to be, as there is no longer a buffet. However, that's understandable given the high overhead costs of running a restaurant these days. The current setup is cafeteria-style: you place your order at the front for a plate that comes with a meat and two sides. Don't worry about portion sizes—they’re quite generous! The food is delicious, the waitstaff is fantastic, and the place has been thoroughly cleaned up. So, give them a try and be sure to disregard those older reviews!
