I had lunch in this family-owned restaurant, and was delighted by the great food and relaxed atmosphere. The café-style dining room is cozy and nicely decorated. For warm summer days a large terrace boasts fantastic views over the surrounding pastures. Thumbs-up for the very friendly and efficient service. The menu puts focus on freshly prepared traditional dishes. As starter I chose the venison terrine - beautifully presented, very tasty. As main course I chose the veal steak with morels served with pommes frites and vegetables. The meat was tender and perfectly prepared. The chef really knows his job, you can taste that no convenience product is used. As dessert I had the absinth sorbet served...with absinth: truly refreshing and flavourful. In high-priced Switzerland the bill, amounting to CHF75, remained surprisingly moderate, therefore offering excellent value for money.I am looking forward to visiting Chez Bichon again!Advice for those using public transportation: check schedules, as buses run rather sporadically.
We stayed in La Brevine recently and have visited the area numerous times over the past few years and love the region. We always look forward to a lunch at Chez Bichon a family run country restaurant . The new terrace in particular is a wonderful location to hang out for a few hours over one of the best country meals around with local fresh produce . They were renovating the upstairs area for future bedrooms so we may stay there in the future . Menu is of course very Swiss and home made cooking is the speciality - usually using the best produce for the time of year such as mushrooms and the wild hunting season...the desserts are just wonderful and the home made Meringues with the local cream are the best around the area and maybe the best anywhere !!!!A must visit if passing through this fairly remote remote region maybe on the way to France or along towards the other Jura regions.
