Before Starbucks there were a few little cafes but in the last year or so, three have closed down. So now we only have Localz for those of us who prefer to keep our money in the community and stay away from big American corporations. They serve Salt Spring Coffee and the latte's are very good. I've never eaten there but my friends say the sandwiches, soups and pastries are great. We always meet there for coffee. It is very clean with a friendly staff and an appealing black and white decor. There are a few tables outside and it is never too busy in downtown Ladner so one can linger and people watch. Also no problem to tie up your dog or park your bike.
Yummy!. Tried the pesto chicken sandwich on Russian Rye bread. Was very nicely presented on the plate. The sandwich itself was made with very fresh ingredients and included lettuce cucumber and tomato. Combination of chicken and pesto was just right, then they grilled the sandwich just enough to enhance all the flavors. My brother had the Reuben on rye which was also a stellar sandwich. Forgot to order dessert which gives me a good excuse to go back again very soon. The sweet treats behind the counter looked exquisite and I can't wait to try them. Lots of smiles and great customer service. Thanks Localz!
Delightful Discovery. After viewing the Snowy Owls at the Boundry Bay we stumbled upon this wonderful eatery in this destination village in Ladner. Loved the decor; and the washroom was clean! Great tasting soups and freshly baked muffins. Recommended for a lazy Sunday afternoon get-a-way.

Great Place for Lunch!. This café recently opened in Ladner Village and has been very busy indeed every time I have visited for lunch. The staff are very friendly and there is a great atmosphere within the café. In addition to having great Salt Spring Coffee, you can order freshly made sandwiches or wraps. I had a wonderful soup in addition to my tuna melt sandwich and it was all very good and reasonably priced. They also have a wide variety of desserts and bake daily. Well worth a visit!
