We tried other royal cakes, but these blow away the competition. They offer several flavors, but we love the cinnamon butter and butter pecan. The cake part is somewhat more like pastries than cakes, which we prefer, and the glaze above the top is perfect. Unfortunately, they would not ship this year, so we made the long ride. Mardi Gras Beads and Baby are included. My only criticism is that there was confusion about our order because it was not correctly recorded and they now use plastic bags instead of boxes. Icing tends to rub on the plastic and it is more difficult to carry several cakes. This place is super busy with long lines just to pick up preordered cakes, the closer it Mardi Gras so order early. The cake is good.
I love the brownies. You're the best I've ever eaten. The workers are friendly. I think prices are reasonable.
We tried the King Cake, petit four and other delicious pastries. All we tried was good. The staff was very friendly. Great place to stop when downtown.
There are several large royal cakes in the city, and many so-so-king cakes. Cellar is in handful of places at the top. Your cake is moist and tasteful, not like dry bread with icing on top. We just got an Amaretto Walnut and I ate four pieces before I could convince myself to stop. The pastries and cookies are also good (high soles are excellent), but the king cake is simply at the top of the list.
If you don’t get Keller’s iced brownies before you die, you haven’t lived! Best brownies I’ve ever tasted!!
