We have chicken and rib, Portuguese soup, chili with rice and beans on the side. The chicken was moist and tasteful, 't get to try the ribs because my picky-diner-friend grinded them down (a witness how good they must have been), the Portuguese soup was comforting (have sausage, beans and greens in a seasoned tomato broth), the chili was average; but the beans were smokey and slightly sweet nice on white rice. I still think about her. The service was also good. The cashier made an error to my order when it was brought to their attention, they quickly fixed the problem with no foot or additional costs. Not too bad for a fast food chain has not received this type of service in the highly rated restaurants in the area.
Awesome. I conpletely dissagree with some of the reviews. I think this place is amazing. It's a hidden Treasure.
Mama’s Ribs and Rotisserie is a tiny restaurant in the Napili Plaza shopping centre in the west side of Maui. It's in 5095 Napilihau Street. Phone 808-665-6262. Mama’s Ribs is usually a take-out restaurant, although it has some indoor tables. You order at a counter and get your food at the counter (no waiter or waiter). The food comes in Styrofoam containers. In addition to BBQ ribs, they have chicken, chili, pot roasts, salads, sandwiches and wraps. Most meals come with rice, beans and/or macaroni salad.
Aussies there is a big thumb up!. I went to Mamas on a holiday to Maui, Australia. We stumbled on this jewel when we took the wrong bus out of town and landed in a small mall. The bus driver recommended it and said everyone he knows about it. The food was divine! I had never tasted Bbq sauce baked beans and boy I miss it! The ladies on the counter were very helpful and led us lost outsies through the menu. This place is perfect when you are sick to pay ridiculous prices for low quality hotel food along the Maui trip. I know where to go when I come back next!
Not cheap. Ribe and chili combo are pretty good. But it's not cheap. For a family of 4 (with 2 younger kids sharing an entree), we run about $50. And that doesn't include any drinks. But the food tastes good.
