The Scarlet Runner - Lancaster

The Scarlet Runner catered my daughter's late October wedding postponed a year and a half because of covid it was SO looked forward to! The promise of a delicious and beautiful meal was an important part of the celebration, which lead us to the Scarlet Runner. Every morsel of food offered by Hillary Mace and her exceptional staff was swoon worthy, weak in the knees delicious! Guests raved at the flavors, the freshness, and the creativity in the preparation and the presentation of their meals. The bartenders and waitstaff were professional, everything went smoothly, nary a hitch. Ms. Mace is a joy to work with, if you are fortunate enough to have her cater your event, know you are in excellent hands, sit back and be prepared to be gobsmacked!

This is the second year having Scarlet Runner cater our company Christmas dinner and they outdid themselves again! Hilary is great to work with very responsive with communication and always delivers high quality food! Would definitely recommend Scarlet Runner for any kind of event.

The Scarlet Runner catered my daughter’s small wedding- both breakfast and the reception. The food was outstanding. We loved every one of the selections. The Scarlet Runner were able to tailor their menu items to meet our needs. The selection of items was impressive, we did not feel that we were limited in any way. Everyone raved about the food. The breakfast included a delicious egg, ham, cheese and potato frittata, yummy french toast, and perfectly cooked bacon and sausage. After the hearty breakfast, the wedding party and bride and groom were ready for the day! The reception meal began with the Artisan Cheese, Spanish Tapas and Antipasto Boards. They were beautifully presented on immense, free-form boards and featured a great variety of quality selections. The bacon wrapped dates were addictive. The cheeses were outstanding, especially the cheddar, and the fig jam and blackberry mustard were terrific foils to the salty meats and cheeses. For salad, we selected the local greens, goat cheese and pistachio with honey-ginger vinaigrette. The Fingerling Potatoes were very popular and many guests enjoyed second helpings. Vegetarian selections included Grilled Vegetables and the Blistered Sungold Tomato, Artichoke and Ricotta Cheese Pasta. I cannot say enough about the grilled Beef Tenderloin with horseradish creme and Zinfandel onion jam, the Herb Roasted Chicken, and the Grilled Chicken with peach bourbon Bbq sauce. Everyone raved. Both meals arrived on time, were presented beautifully, and were ready to eat. Hilary was always responsive to my communications and was flexible and easy to work with. We would definitely use The Scarlet Runner again and can confidently recommend them.

The food was outstanding, we received so many compliments on what was served and everyone said it was the best food they’ve had at any wedding! Hilary was great to work with and even though we had some difficulty due to the pandemic and changing regulations, The Scarlet Runner worked with our venue and came up with a solution that made it possible to safely cater to our guests. We loved that Hilary used locally sourced food and had so many options/combinations that were unique yet paired perfectly together. They really know what they’re doing in terms of cuisine and quality and we are so glad we had them for our special day!
