Mt Charleston Lodge Cabins - Las Vegas

I've had so much fun up there, for many years great weekend dates, lunches, dinners or just have a beer before going skiing, I've hiked the mountian and spent many peaceful hours in those hills.

If a little serenity amidst a hectic simmering summer is what you are seeking the Cabins at Mt Charleston are the perfect respite. The first thing I noticed driving up the mountain besides the gorgeous scenery was the difference between 117 degrees in Las Vegas and a refreshing 80 degrees at the cabin. Each cabin has a back porch balcony with chairs and a table so sitting outside and listening to the stillness amidst the pines was a gift to my sweaty spirit.Inside the cabin is a fireplace, tv and dvd player, small refrigerator, huge tub and shower, microwave and mini coffee pot.The office rents dvds for a dollar-as diverse as Shawshank Redemption, Goonies and The Notebook. Lots of choices!There is no restaurant on the premises so you need to drive 4 miles down the road to the the lodge or bring food you can make using the microwave or your own creativity.Staff are so friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our dvd player and they took care of it immediately. Check in is easy and stress free. You can make reservations online. The night was cool-in the 60’s. The price per night is incredibly reasonable there are no hidden fees, no parking fees, no technology fees, just a straight up room fee plus tax. Way cheaper than room rates in Vegas and a nice break from the chaos. If you’re a local-here is your nirvana from the sweltering temps and if your visiting try a change of pace during your stay. Book a room for a night -give yourself a chance to regain your sanity.

Fun cabins, nice continental breakfast spread... we miss the restaurant for sure! But it's always a beautiful stay. :

The cabins need alot of maintenance and updating, people that work there are very nice, but we won't be back

Great location if cathedral rock hike is on your list. The cabins are a little old and smelled kinda funky, at least that’s what we noticed. It was cleaned and has the essentials. We wanted to BBQ but theirs closes at 5 which was a bit early but I understand.
