Positives were the atmosphere, good place to watch sports but if your going to cater to men your portion size had to match. Service was great and good fries. I had the fried chicken sandwich but it was tiny. The bun and chicken was cold and it fell apart half way through. Our burgers were also just average, our kids fries were cold. Very disappointed since we live 5 minutes away.
Popped in for an early dinner on Friday, September 8th...about 5pm. The parking lot was full so I thought they'd be packed but it was wide open. Got a booth immediately. We came here after having a beverage at elsewhere. Wanted a really good burger and was not disappointed.Full bar, varied menu, and decent atmosphere. It took a few minutes for someone to take our drink order but that gave my wife and I a chance to settle in. Dove straight into a dinner order with the Big Tex Burger and Buffalo Chicken Salad. I asked for medium and burger came out closer to medium well but the meat made up for that with a perfect level of juiciness. Excellent fat content for a fantastic mouth feel. The fries were great too...just above shoestring size. Loved them. The Buffalo sauce had a tangy zing to it but I think that's fairly standard for that type of sauce. Not a personal favorite but was tasty for sure. I remember having their salsa on a previous visit and it had a bite to it so they may tend to be on the spicy side for similar items...not enough data to be sure yet.I was craving dessert and was surprised that the server didn't offer anything. Usually servers are always trying to upsell so I'm not sure if I'm happy they didn't offer or not. As a matter of fact, the server brought the bill before asking if we wanted anything else...not another round of drinks, no dessert, no water, nothing. None the less I soldiered on, opened a new tab, and ordered Cheesecake and coffee. The cheesecake must have been frozen. You can tell when it's not fresh. Was disappointed but the flavor hit the spot even if the texture didn't.The server was friendly and attentive but seemed rushed, like she was trying to turn the table. There was a short wait by the time we finished dinner but the apparent rushing was all dinner long. The prices were as expected for this day and age.Looks like a nice atmosphere for HH and/or dinner at the bar. I'm sure the service was an anomaly.Want to come back and try the Country Fried Steak!Overall, I liked it.
Very average food for the price. I understand there isn't much out that way (Leander), but the average plate with a side salad substitute was over $17.00. For sandwiches. I'll give it another shot, but at those prices you expect good food quality. Hopefully Waterloo comes out this way soon! Good example of matching price with quality.
Took my younger son for dinner at this local place; front door service was quicker than expected which should have been the clue to things to come. For dinner service, the restaurant was very empty. Waitress was attentive but not confident in the food quality when asked what she recommended; Brussels sprout appetizer my son ordered was so undercooked a steak knife couldn’t cut through the stalk; entrees came out-I had to ask the waitress if this was the adult portioned catfish (4 bite-sized pieces) and a mound of over cooked fries (if you were blindfolded you wouldn’t know they were fries); shrimp scampi was lame and tasteless until the last bite where all the spices were hidden; overheard our waitress literally talk down the food to patrons next to us
The street corn guacamole and chips was the highlight for sure, so good!
