For years, save for the time we sheltered in place due to the Covid 19 pandemic, my family always loves visiting this area of the Berkshires, and have lost count on how many times we 've been coming to this place for dinner. Unfortunately, this summer 2023 was not it, and left even before we could sit on the table. For starters, we just got out of the room after checking in the hotel. My family did not have a reservation, and walked in. I stood next to the front door slightly open, and was told by the host to shut it off and I apologized and complied. it wasn 't what she said that turned me off, but how she said it. I initially decided not to make a big deal out of it. There were also two parties waiting ahead of us. As soon as one of the parties got called to get seated, the other party a South Asian couple spoke out per their claims that they were there first. The staff somehow managed to create another table, and both parties got seated at the same time, which was admirable. I believed the couple that arrived first deserved an apology, but did not hear a single word from the staff. When it was our turn to get seated, we were informed that the only way we could have a table was outside. While I personally don 't mind outdoor seating, a no thanks response seemed appropriate. My family walked out and decided to dine elsewhere. Once again, it wasn 't what was said to us, but it was how she said it.

The best fish and chips in Lee. Great batter surrounding delicious fish. I was sorry the chips were fries not proper chips but you can’t have everything, can you. I was dubious about the baked haddock with Gorgonzola but it was delicious. The Gorgonzola far from overpowering added a deliciousness to the haddock hard to do. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
