Found a seat in a busy pub, ordered the food at the bar , got our drinks and was seated for no more turn 3-4 minutes when our food turned up. Unbelievably quick , Wetherspoons is never going to be fine dining but it’s relatively cheap and cheerful, the bar staff were friendly but not overly chatty, the kitchen have got things down to a T, great turnover of food, all staff never stood still for a minute, only slight concern was that the waiting staff weren’t chatty at all, I appreciate they never stood still but pleasantries would go a long way. I would recommend anybody fancying a quick bite to eat before attending the arena to go here. Fantastic service, well done.
HEDLEY VERITY LEEDS Wetherspoons What has gone wrong with this venue.First the men's toilets, has massive hole under troughs 10 ft long, sit down toilets like Egypt one star hotel!! The beer lines for weeks now appear not to have been cleaned giving the tell tell taste,Corona extra,(expensive) duff, tried carling, cider all have old stock taste The staff, however has some real gems, helpful, kind ,seems to me ,with proper leadership,it might be able to turn round this night, club venue into a all round Wetherspoons, day time needs searous work, front of house as priority, Perhaps with the excellent kitchen,it needs to move forward from a venue open to pay for the electricity,to good day time spoons Avoid like the plague at the moment
Ordered a large mixed grill, and a pint of Abbots. All the food was luke warm, and the Beer was very cloudy, so we didn't drink all the beer, but did eat the luke warm food.
We ordered food, I ordered the gammon and my wife ordered pasta with chicken breast. When the food arrive my wife received a bowl with about 3 pieces of pasta and 3 pieces off chicken. As we were starving we tucked in. Obviously it took my wife about 3 mins to eat hers. I finished mine then went to complain. I asked our server if I could speak to a manager, he said he was a manager, yes really, he was a manager who willingly served us a tiny portion of pasta and chicken at a cost of £12! He said “what do you want me to do, she’s eaten it” I said really ! He offered a free round of drinks as an apology (instead of another meal) we accepted the drinks then quickly upped and left to find a reputable establishment so my wife could get a lunch at a 2nd time of asking.
I always used to visit this 'spoons when passing through Leeds, it was definitely one of my favorites. Never previously had a bad visit. Sadly it seems to have deteriorated at an alarming rate. Called in for breakfast mid-morning on a quiet Sunday. The interior is starting to look shabby, there was umpteen uncleared tables, the floor was so sticky you could hear your shoes squeak as you walked. Ordered breakfast, it arrived cold, the sausages almost raw. Never again.
