Opern Cafe - Leipzig

On the occasion of a visit to the Gewandhaus we were looking for a way to go near before eating. I spontaneously fell across the Opera Cafe, because I've eaten several times. That's why it's time for an assessment. The restaurant is right next to the foyer in the opera house reopened in 1960 on Augustusplatz in Leipzig city centre. Although the device is somewhat unmodern and dusty, it is still cozy. The waiter welcomed us very kindly and led us to a covered table. The drinks were served immediately after the order. On the menu there should be something for every taste, it is diverse, but not overloaded and the dishes are original. We chose Rehrückensteaks to add bacon beans in port wine sauce and pumpkin kernel roaststis, calfsroots filled with feta and spinach in a slight note of garlic with thyme onion sauce and macartomas, pangasiusfilet with salmon filling in lemon talc sauce with potato rinds and spores Attention, the waiter questioned whether the shrimps should be served already peeled and my request to not get the sauce so fiery was kindly accepted. The food came after a reasonable waiting period, was fashioned appetizing and tasted excellent, there was nothing to put on. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is sensational. All in all, it was a really successful start for a nice evening, to which the friendly team contributed decisively. We definitely come back and recommend the Opera Cafe.

Nice place, excellent service, good food. What more do you expect? Very good to have such a place in the building. So when we go back next year, we certainly will, we will visit same restaurant again.

Ideal for eating after the opera when so many of Leipzig's restaurants are closed. Very polite service and well-chilled wine. Sadly not open on Sunday evenings.

Were with the Happy Dinner Card in the opera cafe and were able to pick us a second dish at the price for one. I had searched the meat specialties and my wife for the fish specialties, each for 16,90, but we only had to pay one. Even without the HDC the prices are appropriate for this dish, you sit well, the service is top, the food delicious and rich. Well, I want to start here. There's nothing to complain about from my point of view. The food is very appealing and is also very decorative. The service is top and always close, you should need something. Since it is in the centre for every Leipzig visitor and, of course, for the Leipzigers a tip.
