A quick dinner after a day long tour. This is a Italian/Brazilian fusion restaurant. I had Salmon with risotto and it was tasty! The salmon could have had a tiny bit more flavour but it wasn't a massive complaint. You also receive a free caiparinha with your meal (set ones though). The only con? Very slow service. The restaurant was fairly empty for our table of 5. Great they spent time doing the food, just at the wrong time...we were pretty hungry. A slightly more expensive restaurant but all very happy with the food we received. One of my party was an Italian too!
Their vision of a "Escondidinho" is a bunch of manioc goo, topped with cheese and lava hot! The taste is ok, but light as a concrete brick! Very adequte for summer in Bahia, inland!
They have changed the name to Gran Sasso and moved to Rua 7 de Setembro - no wonder we struggled to find it. Set in a renovated building - done very well. Not a cheap place to eat but you get quality food. Menu is in English and the waiter also spoke English, which helped a lot. Pity the didn't serve any wine.
We had two main courses and one of them was the saltiest dish we've ever tasted (pasta with beef). The other dish was greasy so we decided not to eat it (shrimp in coconut sauce). We did not bother sending due to the language barrier and the restaurant did not make an effort in understanding why. It was awkardly quiet on a Sunday evening.
