The hotel is a perfectly beautiful place for a stop en...route A block of motel-style rooms (like a campanile in their very nice quiet garden. The restaurant is fabulous! Something more than we usually spend on our route stops, but I'm glad we did. Excellent selection of dishes, well prepared and presented, good wine list. Now firmly on our list of regular stops! Amuse choice of deserts, black fruit plate, red fruit plate, or yellow fruit plate. We chose black and yellow and took a picture (here somewhere). Good selection of single malt in the bar. I say no to ice was easy to explain, we wanted to tap room temperature water, not so much.
The selection of food was good and the service of the personal was excellent. a few businessmen eat alone, but a very comfortable setting and edible food served hot, tasty and plentiful. nothing was too much annoyed.
This restaurant is worth a detour. The service is very good, and the food has some very good combinations that express the creativity of the cook. In particular, the John Dory with a chestnut accompanied by a chestnut sauce was excellent. The pain as... dessert must also be tried. Overall, this was a really nice experience for my wife and I.
We returned again, this time with another family member, so were in the Annexe across the road, staying in a suite with a double bedroom, spacious bathroom (with large shower), a sitting room and an attic bedroom with twin beds. This worked out as a...better deal than two double rooms and gave us plenty of space to relax after a day of driving. This time we were able to eat outside, moving tables to avoid piped music. Our companion was vegetarian and, as the 26 Euro set price menu did not offer a vegetarian plat, they suggested she had two of the vegetarian entrees, one as a main course. We had the lamb shank and chicken as main courses and we all had the speciality of "pain perdu '. Carafe wine was perfectly acceptable and one of us had a local microbrewery beer. Breakfast the following morning offered the same huge array of choices: still the best anywhere!
This is the restaurant attached to the hotel.Excellent fixed price menus with a la carte option. Food outstanding for such a small out of the way hotel, wine list varied and reasonably priced.
