We were informed that this was the best luau show on the island, although the food wasn't the greatest. However, we didn't mind and decided to go anyway. After attending, I can say that the show was amazing and surprisingly, we actually enjoyed the food as well! The meat was well seasoned and cooked, and everything else was delicious too. We also had the opportunity to walk around and check out the various vendors selling items. We ended up purchasing a baseball cap with a wooden bill, as well as admiring some cool paintings and jewelry. The bar had an open bar policy, so we indulged in a few drinks while exploring. I don't think it would have been possible to get up during the performance, so we made sure to grab some drinks right before sitting down. Although I wasn't a fan of the cocktails, some of them were quite strong. The desserts were just okay, but overall, I really enjoyed the luau and felt that it was definitely worth it.
Well, the post-dinner production was eye-popping and spectacular! The pre-dinner hula dancing was ho-hum, and the buffet food was high school cafeteria type and quality. The best entrée was the pork, but it could've used some buns and BBQ sauceeven If it had come from a squirt bottle. The Hawaiian condiments were tasteless. In summary, come for the spectacular show, not the food.
Updated rating to 2 stars for main show production very well done and we ended up being able to view the show by fending for ourselves and leaving our table to find a view outside open area closer to stage and much cooler. Food mediocre at BEST, no good selection at BUFFET. No pig ceremony. Seating 0 out of 5, no clear understanding in advance of where you will be seated; we booked 3 weeks ahead when our party of 4 arrived were placed in nose bleed section where we could not see the show, understand the music. Stage hundreds of feet from our table, was forced to flag down a waiter for salad and water. No service at our table. This is not a true Hawaiian historical event as there was no personal touch period. Not staffed fully, lack of attentiveness.
We did not have the buffet so no comments on the food. The show was fantastic!! All the dancing, singing and especially the fire throwing. It was like being in a circular theater with lights and performers all around you., Highly recommend the show.
