A note for veggies the Legume dish on the menu is figurative and has meat with it Ask instead for l'assiette végétarienne which is vegetarian and very tasty. As the lighting was very low, the accompanying picture is of the impressive vertical bar
I have to admit having some sticker shock when first seeing the menu, but the food and rum cocktails were excellent. I had the chicken and cashews flavourful and juicy. My friend had the griot and fried plantains we're still talking about it. We sat at the bar and liked the friendly service. They have some privately imported rums available that I haven't seen anywhere else in town. I am definitely returning.
As a newbie for Haitian food, my verdict after a visit to Agrikol was I loved it! Agrikol is a fairly new restaurant and bar locating in the Gay Village area, which serves some Haitian food with interesting cocktails. It’s also one of the few restaurants in Montreal that people start to line up outside before its opening time. If you’ve never had Haitian cuisine, I suggest that you do!
Wow! Really delicious food with a wonderful ambiance. The restaurant is quaint and a bit cozy but the food is unreal. The restaurant offer some of the most flavourful Haitian food I’ve ever tried. The jerk chicken and plantain chips are incredible
Agrikol is Régine Chassagne's baby. If you don't know who this is, I can't talk to you. Haha. Just kidding. But really not. She's only the singer/head girl of Arcade Fire, one of my all time fave bands. You can see why I HAD to try Agrikol. Well, also because I've been dying to eat Haitian food. So, on a Sunday a couple weeks back, i headed there with Dan (the owner of my fave Barcola Bistro) and Vino (one of my faves I hadn't seen in way too long).
