King Do - Liverpool

My friends and I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant last night. The staff member who served us was excellent and the food was amazing. I highly recommend trying the beef satay.

I love this restaurant, especially since the nearby alternative has become too expensive. While it may not be a 5-star establishment, it is a reliable option in Woolton village. The food is tasty and well-prepared, and while the staff can sometimes seem indifferent, we don't come for the entertainment. The prices for soft drinks are high, but that seems to be the norm for dine-in restaurants. The food is consistently good, the staff is friendly even during busy times, and they are willing to accommodate special requests and make recommendations. I have been coming here for over 30 years and will continue to do so - it is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Woolton.

Great food. Friendly service. Pleasent ambience. Reasonably priced. I would recommend if you are looking for somewhere to eat in Woolton.

Well where to begin…… This restaurant was actually our 4th choice Chinese one due to no availability or that bit to far to travel. It was 4th choice to a bad experience a few years ago. But not one to cling onto the past thought why not give them another chance. When we walked in it was dead, Which obviously wasn’t as good sign. The far superior Chinese restaurant up the road was fully booked for the next 3 hours. From the second we were seated it felt like I’d made the wrong decision. My bum wasn’t even on the seat and I was hurriedly getting asked for my drink order. Wasn’t much long after I was getting asked for my food order. The whole attitude of the staff was off putting as it felt like they didn’t want to be there and couldn’t be bothered serving us. Fast forward to the end of the starters. Food is nice upto this point. As the starters are cleared any food that was left on the plates are just taken away. No communication as to wether we were finished or would like to keep hold of any starters we hadn’t managed to eat. Then orders another round of drinks for the new drinks to be put down and the old glasses cleared, Regardless of any drink being left in them. Even if it was a third of a glass of extortionately priced coke that probably went straight down the sink. Now here is the nail in the coffin. Mains arrived. All piping hot and looking lovely. My partner and I were taking turns to feed our 1 year old bits and pieces from our plates. (This is probably why they couldn’t be bothered to serve us as they see the mess babies make, Even though we always ask for a dustpan and brush to clean up ourselves) about 5/10 mins into tucking in my partner pulls a inch long frazzled hair from the boiled rice which turned all of our stomachs having already fed this to our young baby. So not to make a scene in the middle of the slightly picked up restaurant floor, I put the said hair and clump of boiled Rice attached to it on a side plate and approached the bar area to speak to someone. I asked to speak to a manager. Now who I spoke to is No manager. Had the people skills Of a ironing board. All I was repeatedly offered was the boiled rice off the bill even though all 3 adults had pushed there meals away from them in disgust. I would have happily paid for all drinks and starters which i thought was fair. While this conversation was going on a waitress had hurrily ran the hairy boiled rice into the back never to Be seen again. (Stupidly should have taken a photo) the waitress then returned to tell me we had nearly finished our mains. I can categorically say all mains had over 60/70% left on the plate. I could see I was getting nowhere with the “manager” regarding the bill so reluctantly paid over £100 minus the “boiled rice” I vowed never to return as long as I live and must inform others not to attempt to eat here. Not least for the terrible attitude of staff but for the disgusting practise of not being bothered that they have hairs in their food.

I had a great time at this restaurant. The food was excellent, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back again.
