La Bamba - Long Beach

Seems like everywhere on the island is like this.. mediocre service and top tier food. I don't particularly mind it. The people are nice enough and it feels kind of like part of the experience of visiting LBI. Softest steak I've ever had. Delicious and melts in your mouth. Unexpectedly amazing. Check your emotional expectations and enjoy the food I guess Meal type: Lunch

The prices are of a 4 star restaurant the food and atmosphere is of a take out store. I feel like I just straight up got robbed, I go to all the nice places around here and this is the first time my bill was over $100 got burritos stuffed with insane amount of rice and beans, basic chicken cheese quesadilla and if you love the traditional tres leches DO NOT GET IT HERE! It was really bad and I told them it was nothing like tres leches and they told mw it’s different everywhere. If you know tres leches, there is a traditional way and that’s it, it had weird icing on it, it was brown color, it had chocolate there was a lot wrong with it. My friend owns a several Mexican restaurants and I also have been to Mexico many times and this food is below average. It just something I’d totally eat for $5 a pop from a street vendor, things are served in plastic baskets for $16 appetizers and $30 plus dinners, you def would expect a fancy spot with very good food. I honestly do not feel right paying that kinda money and they force a specific tip, they add it on, so service isn’t that good but no matter how poor the service will be you’ll pay the tip they want, so they don’t need to work for their tip. What I thought a tip is, optional for when the service is exceptional. I would never step foot in that place again. Rip off. I’m a bit confused reading these reviews, I feel like the people leaving reviews never been to a nice Mexican restaurant or on something And all Mexican restaurants I have been to always serve salsa and chips free This place charges and arm and a leg for everything as well as for the salsa and chips‍

First time getting food here and I was not disappointed. I’ve seen them over the years while on vacation and always wanted to try them and so glad I did. We were just grabbing a quick lunch so I opted for a burrito, and chose the Burrito De Mariscos. I have to say it was one of the best, most flavorful burritos I’ve had. The blend of seafood (which was cooked perfectly) with the rice and beans and spices was delicious. And it was big enough to share or get two meals out of it. There was no chips and salsa that you get at some places with takeout, but that wasn’t an issue for me today. I’ll definitely be back to try other things.
