Friendly staff and owner. Great beer. Loved the Hazy iPA.
Carms and I went to the Old Chalet in Eagle Rock for a few drinks, then decided to check out Eagle Rock Public House across the street for some food. I highly recommend trying their bucket of Fried Chicken and biscuits if it's your first time there. Their house hot sauces and craft beer selection are also fantastic, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food at Eagle Rock Brewery Public House. I had expected nothing but greasy bar food, but was pleasantly surprised. My daughter enjoyed her protein-style burger with delicious caramelized onions. My husband's fish sandwich was perfectly crispy, and my beet salad was fresh and tasty. The atmosphere was airy and clean, and the service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant regularly!
The Wild Wild West of Eagle Rock/Highland Park now has a new restaurant in charge. While many new restaurants in the area focus on trendy decor over cooking basics, The Public House stands out. Their menu offers a perfect balance of interesting ingredients without relying on trendy names. The flavors and presentation complement each other seamlessly, creating a solid and understated dining experience. I always appreciate restaurants that offer beer flights, and The Public House delivers on this front. However, be aware that they charge a 3% living wage surcharge, which may go unnoticed unless you have a magnifying glass handy. While I find this practice manipulative, I still highly recommend The Public House for its food and ambiance. I personally will not be returning until this practice is discontinued.
