Waitress was super nice and friendly. She was super helpful. Only knocked down bc one steak came out way too way well done and one of the wait staff pushed back when we asked if he wouldn't mind taking our appetizer plates to make when he brought out our entrees.
Service was awful. You have to wonder what the W management is thinking. The wait staff was a total joke, with a few people goofing off, a few people on their phones, and our waiter having zero social grace. For this to be the service quality at the W, one of the most expensive places around that area, is comical. The ambience is nice, but that's about it.
We so enjoyed our breakfasts at the Hideout while staying at the W! The chicken and waffles were excellent and our waiter made us feel like we were visiting his home! Thanks Hosea Ortiz and W hotel!
I lived at the W hotel for a week and I went to The Hideaway daily for breakfast and sometimes happy hour.NINO AND JOSÉ ARE SERVERS THAT DESERVE TO BE RECOGNIZED!!! They both go out of their way to remember your order from the day before and they go above and beyond by proactively asking if my tea needed more hot water and such.Food wise, it's the STK menu on weekends and the STK happy hour menu during happy hour. Weekdays breakfast is better priced.Food is good and filling. The oysters here (west coast ones) are SO fresh and some of the best I've ever had. They're on the happy hour menu!
We recently hosted our corporate holiday party at STK. To sum it up--there seems to be a bit of a disconnect with how event inquiries are handled (off-site and by the corporate office) and thus, we were shocked on day of our event to find out that they had us at the Hideout (other restaurant/dining area within the same hotel). This is no fault on STK, but rather the corporation that owns them. During the planning, we noticed that the coordinator that we were working with seemed to lack some of the knowledge that someone who works at STK would know. And when we tried to set up an appointment to tour the restaurant, the person who we were told to contact was no where to be found. It seems that all calls to the restaurant goes through a call center in Colorado (where corporate is located) which also makes it hard to communicate with the restaurant. Luckily, Brad Buchman (their new GM) and his team really stepped up to the plate. Brad was incredibly understanding about the situation and helped rescue us from a potentially disastrous situation. He a great job in managing his team, getting all hands on deck and as a result, we were able to welcome our guests into the space in less than an hour upon discovering the mix up. The situation was corrected so seamlessly that you would never know what was going on behind the scenes. Thank you to Brad his amazing team! The food was delicious, the drinks were good, and everyone enjoyed themselves. We will be back!
