Contribuisci feedbackMiss your Polish grandma's cooking? Maybe you're like me and your grandma never cooked the old school dishes. Warsaw Inn fills that void. It's dated and a little dingy but clean. It is like sitting down at a friend's grandma's house for a huge meal. They do all of the traditional Polish fare: sausage, pierogis, stuffed cabbage, potato pancakes, ham, fried chicken, roast beef, dill pickle soup (yep you read that right, try it! . They also have daily specials for example Tuesday is duck, Saturday is Liver onions. My personal favorite is Thursday's breaded pork chops. I swear I could just pull a chair up to the buffet and eat pork chops and potato pancakes til I burst! Now, some reviews have mentioned the lack of seasoning and they are not wrong. This is Polish food, land of the unexciting flavors. While they may not be intensely seasoned I'm confident that the majority of their items are appropriately seasoned. The buffet will run you just under $20 for an adult. Absolutely 100% worth it. Also fun fact: feel like eating a pile of food without standing at the buffet? They have takeout. $20/adult Patrons are encouraged to sanitize hands or wear gloves before self serving from the buffet table. Most comply but I saw one man enter the restaurant, wipe his nose, mouth, and beard with his hand and proceed to the buffet. Gross. Nobody wears masks to the buffet tables either. The food is mediocre. Prepared salads like kidney bean salad where so so. Perogi were okay. Roast Turkey in gravy was tender and well seasoned. Green beans were fine. Roast beef was a little tough and unseasoned. The kolazcki were dry, as was the rolled cake. But we ate until we were quite full. Is dining at a buffet like this worth the risk and the cost? That is your call.
I actually had high expectations for the most part upon entering the restaurant. I didn't care for how close the tables were together. The chairs were really low-class, too. I feel they tried to give an upscale look to cheap dining furniture. I ordered a Diet Soda. My fiancé and I shared a Traditional Margarita On The Rocks, which was a Lime Margarita in other words. The food is on a buffet line where you get to serve yourself, going up when you please to create an all-you-can-eat dining experience. The Diet Soda was a mellow drink that tasted rather different than I thought. It was alright. The Margarita was awesome! I was pleasantly surprised to get such a great Margarita at a Polish joint. I wish the food matched the quality of the Margarita. I started off with the Pickle Soup, some white bread, and a Salad with Onions, Cucumbers, Bacon Type Bits, and multiple different dressings, not touching one another, to sample what they had. I got Italian, Fat Free Italian, and French Dressing on the Salad. The Pickle Soup didn't sound too great, but I really wanted to try it for some odd reason, so I did. It was okay for a bite basically, but really just too weird to continue for me. The white bread was pretty good and even better with butter. The Salad was absolutely disgusting. It seemed that they had old ingredients. The Italian dressing tasted old to me. It had a slight sour zing to it. The Fat Free Italian Dressing was the worst dressing I've ever eaten in my life. It was very sour and definitely tasted old or maybe it sat out for some time. The French Dressing had nothing to it really. It seemed to be a low-calorie dressing to me. I never had such a bitter salad before. I went up to get the regular dinner items after I suffered the Soup and Salad trial. I got Potato Pancakes, a Cheese Pierogi, Potato Pierogis, Fried Chicken, Roast Beef, and Fresh Polish Sausage for my main dinner. The Potato Pancakes were oddly shaped and didn't hold a true form. Once again, this item also seemed old. The flavor was bland to match the form. The Cheese Pierogi shocked my taste buds as it turned out to be sweet. It seemed to be more of a dessert to me, but the cheese didn't coerce well with the shell of it. I didn't like it, really. The Potato Pierogi was not good, either. It was pretty much greased up with a bland flavor. The Fried Chicken had a lot of pink areas mixed with a lot of bone. I feel they don't get the bulky chickens. These chickens seem to be malnourished. I dipped it in BBQ Sauce. That helped a bit, but I shouldn't have had to drown my meat to enjoy it. The Roast Beef seemed dry even though the server splashed it around. It was okay, but it got boring rather fast. The Fresh Polish Sausage was cut into really small pieces. They didn't seem to be cooked correctly and the taste was gross. I was already bummed out as I was endearing an atrocious meal, but I had to give their dessert a chance before I parted ways with this place. It was already quite clear that I'd never return here, so I wanted to at least know if their dessert was worthy. I got a Cheese Apple Blintze, a dish of Vanilla Ice Cream with Chocolate Sauce, Chocolate Sprinkles, and Rainbow Sprinkles, and some little brownie piece. The Cheese Apple Blintze was pretty good. I think it's be even better with heavier powder on it throughout for a sure fire crowd pleaser. The Ice Cream dish was okay. It was low-quality Ice Cream of course, as it was dispensed from a machine. The Chocolate Sauce helped distinguish the cheap flavor, however. The brownie piece was really bland. There wasn't a point to it. They shouldn't have bothered even putting it on the line. The service wasn't too good, especially for this being a buffet and primarily serving myself. The refills weren't kept up on and the place wasn't even crowded. I expected fast service here. Overall, they threw up a disgusting buffet at this place. My stomach hurt right after as if someone punched me in the stomach, twisted their fist, and never released it from me. I'm glad I tried it in a weird way, but I can't wrap my hands around how they're even in business. My bill was about $50 and it's unfortunate to feel that way after a rather pricey meal. This meal should have been complimentary for the pain I'm in.
Came here to celebrate a baby shower today, and I was surprised to walk in 10 minutes after the restaurant opened at 4 pm to find the place already packed with hungry diners. Guess this is a very popular place for early Saturday dinner! I later found out that they knock $1 off the $16 buffet fee if you come early, so maybe that's why so many early birds were here. The buffet is quite plentiful, and there are nightly specials in addition every day. I saw an interesting meat gelatin type thing at the salad bar, so I tried a piece, but it didn't have much taste. My favorite items were the BBQ ribs--tender and fell off the bone--and the roast beef, hand-carved and juicy. The watermelon was nice and sweet. The rest of the food was okay. Much of it was quite oily and greasy. Probably popular because of all the butter, but it was too heavy for my taste. I was surprised that the cheese pierogi was actually a sweet dish. Definitely a good place to try lots of home cooked Polish food, but I wouldn't want to eat this too often for my waistline.
Quaint little spot right across the border from where we live. Our experience started out a little slow. Upon entry there was no greeting. We had to ask a server if we were to seat ourselves. She stated that someone would seat us shortly. The restaurant was fairly busy, although not packed. When we were finally seated it took a hot minute for our own server to come to the table. But once we got our server then we were rockin' and rollin'. The buffet is filled with all these different Polish foods. Mostly, yum. They have homemade bread and an assortment of desserts. I will say my most fave item on the buffet was the watermelon. And I know they can't control that but it must be watermelon season cuz it was the BEST I've had my whole life. I'm 41. I've had lots of watermelon. ^ ~ The interior could use a remodel... There is some charm but mostly I think it's a bit outdated. Our server was super sweet and quite efficient. And there is a private lot. Also, they have birthday specials. The whole MONTH of your birthday your meal is half off. Bring an ID with you.
