This ryokan is located within a temple and is run by the priest's wife who is beautiful. The rooms are in traditional Japanese style with comfortable futons and a chair overlooking a lovely garden. Despite not being a temple stay, they do not offer shojin ryori but serve simple yet delicious home-cooked meals. It should be noted that the ryokan is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians as they offer dishes containing eggs, milk, cheese, butter, and yogurt. However, the staff went out of their way to assist me, even driving me to the next village to send my luggage to Narita and helping me arrange my next destination. They were extremely friendly and communication in English was mainly about dining and accommodations. Additionally, there are some pets including a small dog and several cats that reside at the ryokan.
