The lady who took our order was nice, but did not offer any other products like the combo. I have a side salad and a drink for $1.25 more. This is the only 4 star reason. Eat great. Good hard sand for a decent price.
That's all you need when you're looking for the best sandwich in town.
I like these subs, but highly processed, each ingredient tastes as if it were focused and adapted for the perfect balance, not really like fresh simple ingredients, but still admit it tastes good. The salad has this chemical taste of a kind of preservative, the same thing you taste at taco Bell, but the other good flavors tend to drown the salad taste.
I've gone a few times now since they opened a month or 2 ago. I originally discovered the Firehouse franchise while we were on vacation in Virginia. After going there for lunch one day, we were hooked (no pun intended) and set out to discover one in our native New Jersey. After finding one in Princeton we've gone there a few times, and were thrilled to discover this one opening in Ramsey. The first time someone picked it up for me while at work, and upon returning it was a bit cold and not as enjoyable as I remembered. The next time, I went to pick it up after ordering online. They need to get their order process a bit improved as it was lagging; when I arrived 10 minutes after it was scheduled to be ready, it was not yet. There were several other people waiting for an online order as well and the communication was lacking. After completing 2 orders they put the bags on the back counter without saying anything, while there were clearly 4 people standing by the pick up rack. After another minute I asked and one of the orders that had been previously made was mine. The chip selection was good and the Coke freestyle machine is always a treat. I will return in the hope they are just experiencing new opening pains.
