They would make the best salmon lox bagel with tons of toppings! But the past 3-4 times I’ve gone, my bagel is tiny with barely anything on it… I am not sure if it’s new staff making them smaller without knowing, or just cutting costs, but either way $11 for basically no toppings is ridiculous. During this particular visit, I was told AFTER I paid that they didn’t have any tomatoes, and the employee asked if I’d like lettuce instead, which was okay with me. But when I got home and opened it, it didn’t have any lettuce and pretty much no onion or capers or anything. This is how they’ve been making them lately. Was it still tasty? Yes, but I would recommend going to Rubenstein on Cap Hill or SLU if you want literally the same lox bagel (order the “Double Down” that is twice the size as Bean Bagel, and very generous on toppings.
I got the breakfast sandwich which included cheddar cheese, bacon, and egg. Paid almost 9 dollars, seems a little pricey but the sandwich itself was good.
Bean and bagel, hold the bean. That 's the kind of sentence I 'd like to start every day with.
Great staff, cool window, bangin’ beans. College-friendly prices too, so get you that bacon+egg+cheese on an everything bagel BB, you deserve it.
I guess I just expected a place with bagel in the name to have good bagels?
