Food: Pinon/Pastelon 5/5 I've only had this at one other place in San Francisco and this one was just as delicious. Who can say no to plantains and meat combined together? Tostones 4/5 A good yummy treat to have as you wait for your food. Deep fried goodness. Tembleque 5/5 Since I love the Hawaiian version of this (Haupia) this was a slam dunk for me. A refreshing and tasty coconut pudding. Service: 5/5 Both the server (I believe her name was Carina) and the owner were lovely people. They were so personable and were awesome at giving suggestions on the menu selections. Ambiance: 5/5 You would never know this would have existed because it's in a remote location and it's sort of hidden away from the main streets of the city.
This place is amazing! By far the best food I have eaten in mammoth lakes! They have a full vegetarian menu in addition to their meat based menu. Many of the items on the vegetarian menu can be made vegan. The owner and her staff are very aware of full vegan versus vegetarian versus pescatarian and have options for each. The personalized service and setting is like going home for a home cooked meal that you have been missing.
Incredible food! We had the Cubano sandwich, Piñón-Pastelón (sweet plantain meat pie) and got a side of Cuban black beans. Our server took really good care of us and was so hospitable! Get the house-made hot sauce and put it on your Cubano if you can! The owner also stopped by to chat and was so kind. I wish I could give 10 stars for both the food and the service. The indoor dining was comfortable, clean, pretty, and had delightful spanish guitar music playing. If you didn?t look at the website before you go, it?s located in the building behind Sierra Meadows Ranch. Turn left into the parking lot a little before the Google maps point for the restaurant.
This restaurant had the most charming location, fun cozy ambience, and loving staff. The owner had an amazing story used her own personal recipes. They say food made with love tastes better, and she proved it true. Everything?s fresh, handmade, and local. It was the highlight of our ski weekend for our group of 7.
An amazing restaurant. The food is insanely good, the views just as good, the vibe is awesome. Highly recommend the escabeche of shrimp and octopus for an appetizer. Then go for the Cuban sandwich or the Pinon and always Tostones on the side. These dishes will seriously blow your mind. We've eaten here every night during our spring break stay in Mammoth. What an incredible place. Love it!
