The Stove entices people with a cozy restaurant and a cool picture of a snowman and a stove. The food is rich and delicious. It is the kind of food you enjoy at the cost of your health, but it is worth it. I ordered the Texan Omelette, which is a four egg omelette with chili and cheese! The omelet was very delicious, especially as I covered it with some salsa to add a kick. The chili was full of meat and was pretty good. The dish also came with potatoes that lacked something in taste. Ketchup was involved. I have a cookie that was actually a lil disappointing. It was rich and moist, but didn't have the sharp I wanted. I also tried some chocolate chip pancakes and French toast. Damn it, it's good. The French fries are quite delish and the crab melt I tried was loaded with crabs. If you are in Mammoth, the Stove is the place to meet for some high-quality foods. It may not be the healthiest, but you will not really care because the food is good times.
I've been to Mammoth for a couple of family ski trips (for breakfast and dinner), and it's never been a disappointment. food is nothing imagination, only solid and heavy homecooking. the ambience is casual and comfortable. my only complaint would be waiting – always crowded and as there is not a huge place, there is necessarily a waiting.
Terrible experience! Skinny waitress with long red frizzy hair seemed completely disturbed by our mere presence was incredibly rude of going; Party of 9 felt completely discriminated; when I was on her unnamed for behavior, she just went away; caught her unprofessional tirade on a smart phone, we were in town as part of the 4th. July 2015 annual parade, will be post video. And management just doesn't care. Will never return. Word of advice, go elsewhere to avoid a bad experience for healthier food!
I can see why this place is highly recommended. I got the breakfast burrito with prime rib which was enormous but so delicious! I had half for breakfast the next day. I split the French toast with my husband and it was a nice little treat after a long hike. Service was good and food came out quickly. This place is small and has limited parking so I'm sure it gets really busy during peak times.
Been Here a few times on the trip the prime rib hash is top notch and biscuits are the best
