I come here every morning for a latte and bacon toast for my journey to work. Can't wait until the summer to have ice cream on the balcony and sunbathe ! Friendly staff, great service and great food ! Coffees to die for !!! Can't live without my daily dosage :
You'd be forgiven for thinking that Bailey Italia is an Italian eatery, but it's not. Bailey Italia basically serves your standard cafe food; Sandwiches, burgers, jacket potatoes etc. They also have an ice cream selection. Resist the use of your peripheral vision and it looks like any other cafe. However, once you look around it starts to get bizarre. The floor is shared with another company. To your left you have a fine selection roof racks and mountain bikes, and to your right you have signs proclaiming I can have my car MOTd at this location. Above your head the entire ceiling is covered in camouflage netting like you're eating at an army barracks in Afghanistan. The food is mediocre, but it's what you'd expect for the price. It's nothing fancy but it gets the job done. Bailey Italia relies heavily on the fact that there isn't much competition in the area. There are a lot of offices nearby so it's popular with people who want to go out on their lunch break. Don't go out of your way to come here. But if you're nearby and want food...well, you don't have much choice.
To start with, Bailey Italia isn't an Italian restaurant at all. It does sell ice cream but any similarity ends there. It's also located in one of the oddest locations in Manchester, over the top of a large tent shop MOT centre. Inside there is a combination of very large and comfy leather sofas, more akin to something you'd have in a home, and neatly arranged garden furniture. Food wise you've got either sandwiches or hot food. Costs are very low and portion sizes are frequently generous. But other than the standard fair of average tasting burgers and breakfasts there is nothing of note. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad food. It's just not very exciting. But it's well cooked and very well priced. So if you after a quick cheap lunch and you're in the area, worth a visit.
The young brunette woman working behind the counter should be fired! Her customer service is terrible, and if the owner is smart, they should let her go. She couldn't even handle a basic order and had the audacity to overcharge me. When I tried to address the issue with her, she brushed it off and walked away. Absolutely shocking.
The service at this restaurant was extremely lacking and the waitress was incredibly disrespectful. There was nothing authentically Italian about this place - from the food to the lack of an Italian owner.
