OMG! This place is a haven for sea food lovers! I would give 6 stars if I could. The ambience isn't all that great. We went for Sunday lunch and it was a task to get in and grab a seat. But, with food like that, I would give everything else a pass. We had some pomfrets, seer fish and fried prawns. Oh my, i don't think i have had such good prawns or fish! So fresh and yet to so well cooked. I would drive all the way from Bangalore to have this food :D
Finally, Got to visit @giri.manjas for lunch, and I'm glad that I finally did it.<br/ Fish Thali:<br/ There's an option of White rice or boiled rice, and I chose white rice. The fish gravy, was a traditional Fish Coconut Gravy, and it reminded me of my childhood days, when my grandma used to prepare this traditional Fish curry. The thali is perfect in its own way, and the rice is unlimited.<br/ Price:50<br/ Rating: 5/5.<br/ <br/ Prawns Tawa Fry:<br/ Who doesn't love prawns, especially the big ones. Perfectly Cooked, fresh prawns were served, in a spicy gravy.<br/ Price:190<br/ Rating: 5/5.<br/ <br/ The staffs are so friendly, and the place is well maintained.<br/ Overall a place that everyone must try, if you're in Mangalore
Craving for this place everytime I'm out of Mangalore. Always on my task list when I'm back home. #BestSeaFoodResturant in #Mangalore
Giri Manja is located near Kalikamba temple, Gopalakrishna temple road. This legendary place is known for their sea food and fish thali. If I have to suggest someone the best seafood restaurant in Mangalore, then I'd suggest Giri Manja. We ordered fish thali, prawns golden fry, anjal tawa fry and coconut lime soda. They serve boiled rice as well as white rice, it depends on individual choice. I really loved those perfect golden fried prawns. Though masala was dominating in anjal tawa fry, still you can feel the flavour of fresh anjal fish . You can feel the rich flavour of coconut oil in those dishes which was completely new to us. Fish thali was just fantastic with that fish gravy and dal, total worth the money. It's better if you visit this place before 1pm, otherwise it'll be packed. This restaurant is very simple, located inside a small house. So don't expect any classy ambience. There's no parking area for cars, so it's better to take two wheeler or auto-rickshaw.
