It consisted of 2 very large pieces of perfectly cooked, crispy Pollock with the perfect amount of twice fried chips! Very thin layer of crisp batter around the fish which was so flaky yet firm on the inside. Too bad they didn't offer it in halibut for a bit more because that was the most satisfying fish and chips lunch I've had in a very long time. Only down side is that the tartar sauce isn't the best.
The photos on here are not accurate. The photos are of the pitt meadows location. The maple ridge location does not look like this one at all. The maple ridge location is correct on the address posted. Just be careful the person who did this review/ posted photos does not have accurate photos. Maple Ridge location is the original owners of Austin Fish and Chips. The calamari is the best there!!
Dependably Yummy. Okay....the restaurant isn't all that fancy. We have lunch there once and a while, and it's clean, and the service is friendly.<br/ <br/ Typically we get our fish to take out, we usually get the Cod and Chips. Chips are homemade, fish is nicely cooked with crisp, not too thick batter. Coleslaw tends to be a bit dry, but only for takeout, in the restaurant it's fine.<br/ <br/ I've had the chowder a few times, and it's a bit too thick for my taste, but the flavour is excellent. All in all, I think that Austin is a solid option for Fish and Chips with good value for money. (On a recent visit I saw a diner eating french fries with chili. I'll have to try that....it looked really good!
This location is a perfect example of doing one meal Really Well. Fish and chips done crisp and light clean oil. Large portions. Perfect takeout food. Even comes wrapped in newspaper...the way it should be. Parking easy convenient. Very honest cooking. No frills. Well priced.
Best fish and chips by far in maple ridge. Joe blows fish and chips and horrible, and the sea shanty is over priced. Austins fish is priced right, with all you can eat cod and chips for around 9.00 the portions are big and the fish is crispy and a hit everytime. The coleslaw is a bit watery. The fries are also excellent and the tarter is on point. The ambiance is blah, but the food makes up for it! Defanity recommend this fish and chip place!
