Afternoon Tea Balbirnie - Markinch

Nice atmosphere and eating was nice, so was the personal, very friendly. for money.

Booked for a special birthday , great afternoon a couple of times had to reask the waiter for tea etc as had been forgotten apart from that lovely afternoon.

Unfortunately there was a wedding fayre on the day we went so parking was a nightmare. The hotel was busy with people constantly being shown into the orangery, and our table was right at the door. I'd prefer a better selection of cakes too. Service ok, no one came back to check on us though, had to catch a waitress to ask for more tea/coffee.

Had an enjoyable experience. We were given a voucher from our daughter for our 30th Wedding Anniversary in June. Unfortunately it would have expired when we wanted to use it as the hotel was fully booked. Thankfully Balbirnie House extended it. Afternoon tea was served in the Orangery which is lovely and peaceful. Service was excellent as was the food, with copious amounts of tea or coffee much to my husband’s delight. It was a wonderful treat to have in January.
