While my sympathies go to the family, this is a business. Maybe you should have closed that evening. Service was very slow. The waiter constantly apologized, almost to the point of annoying. The food was decent, but maybe a bit overpriced. It wasn't a bad dinner, but nothing to rave about.
This was our first time here and thought that it was a nice evening out with friends. Our server was excellent and food very good except one order of Salmon which was dry. It is a nice setting and although not all tables have a view of the marsh we were lucky that our table did. I would try to get one with a better view next time. Prices seemed about average for restaurants in the shore area. We would return again if opportunity arises.
Service was good. Sat in bar area nice bay view. Live music. Food and service was good. Martinis where also good.
Food was excellent. Service SLOW and inattentive. Waiter was young (new? —seemed overwhelmed, forgot stuff. But he tried hard, nice guy, I tipped him normal 20% based on effort. Hostesses seemed somewhat indifferent. A la carte setup annoying, but prices fair overall.
We have tried to eat at Skettie’s in the past but could never get a table. We finally reserved far in advance but were very underwhelmed. The service was ridiculously slow. It took almost an hour for us to get our food and we were there for a full two hours even without ordering dessert. Although the appetizers were delicious (strawberry bruschetta, tower of piza, burrata, and the fried cheese), our dinners were not great. I had a salad with salmon. The salmon was incredibly fishy (I couldn’t eat more than a few bites) and the sliced avocado on top seemed frozen. We did not order pasta, which is of course their specialty, so I hesitate to slam the food too much.
