Contribuisci feedbackI am not fond of Fresh Lumpia, but this one is delicious. I will never forget the time when Kuya's became my companion in dieting, I almost ate this everyday for a light snack. A piece of lumpia costs only P45.00. This is commonly found in food courts and kiosks in malls, where you can see them freshly making the lumpia before serving it to the customer. Each roll is filled with a generous amount of lettuce, heart of palm, peanuts, and carrots wrapped in a green lumpia wrapper. The peanut sauce, paired with the lumpia, adds flavor to it when eaten. This is a good dish to introduce to people who are not fond of vegetables, it may be their first step to learn how to eat healthier and lighter meals.
My family has always enjoyed fresh lumpia, the Philippine version of spring rolls. Although it's a common dish at family gatherings, everyone always goes back for more. I, on the other hand, wasn't a big fan until I tried Kuya's Special Lumpiang Sariwa. This unique version of lumpia has a thin green veggie wrapper, chia seeds, Thailand grass, and the option to add chili flakes, which completely changed my opinion of fresh lumpia. The thin wrapper allows for a higher vegetable to wrapper ratio, and the addition of chia seeds and Thailand grass gives the dish a crunchy texture and added health benefits. I now find myself craving Kuya's Lumpia and often ask my mom to bring some home for me or pick some up myself when I'm near the mall. Currently, the only branch I know of is in SM Marikina, but I hope they expand to more locations soon. Kuya's Lumpia truly deserves to be more widely known for its delicious and healthy take on Lumpiang Sariwa.
