We had a working dinner and the food and wine were very good quality, the service also good. Not a lot of ambiance but very comfortable dining room, not crowded and quiet. I had the steak tartare which was very tasty. The cafe gourmand dessert was so-so.
An Hotel Restaurant is not so unusual to be found cold and expensive, but that was what I needed to hava my dinner alone in peace as I was very tired. Food was good and price acceptable.
Ate in the bar area rather than the restaurant and this seemed to cause some issue, just wanted a club sandwich which was on the room service menu, but they said they couldn't do this in the bar, eventually after some persuasion they relented and done the sandwich, which was actually quite tasty
Closed le weekend! We have no idea about Le Transit except for breakfast which was lovely. We can understand if non-tourist hotels close their bar and restaurant at the weekend if it is the French way. It would help if there was a board for the coach party/parties from England to say: Bar and restaurant closed all of the weekend. You would have thought that the tour operator might be aware of this and not suggest eating in Paris early or waiting till we get back to the hotel to eat. Hotel reception chap was rude. Maybe fed up of English ppl complaining. He told me to walk 50 mins to MacDonald's when there were much nearer possibilities. (I spoke to him in French btw)
