We visited on 29th august and were impressed by the recipe, the food and the price. this is somewhere they should visit for hearty good quality and unpretentious Italian cuisine. do not miss them, but they arrive on time as tables can be tight. to business times.
That is a small place and it is true that the dame operates a tight ship and customers like to be on time. it only opens for limited hours and I think when people come late, it upsets the order of things. there are often only 3 people who work there the chef (fantastic), the lady owner and another young waitress. because the opening times are tight, everything has to fit with the planned timetable and therefore perhaps some people could have been turned away. reservations are in the rule. the hours are like 12 2 and 8 10 and that's it. eating is very good, nicely cooked and very hot. it is really very good for the mere price they pay. portioning is very large and the wine is also very good. by mausanne standards it is perhaps the best place to eat in the village and it is always delicious farewell. we recommend the place 100%, as the meals are so good.
My wife and I and two friends had lunch there after a visit to a local attraction and we ordered two Italian salads, a Provencale salad and a lasagne and all four dishes were very good. a local rosè wine was a good guide. we were not. hungry enough for one dessert, but the selection looked very good. we chose an espresso instead.
Where to begin? We made reservations for 8 and when we arrived, we were informed that the male owner had made a mistake and had booked us in for a different night. He was very apologetic but as we were attempting to work out a...solution, as we had traveled 45 minutes to get there- we 'll wait, sit outside, whatever ... While this was going on, the FEMALE owner, who wouldn 't even look at us, was saying no, no, sorry, no... I.e. You are not in the book tonight, no service. She and the male owner, husband and wife I assume begin fighting as the entire restaurant looked on. She then walked to the front door, opened it, and with a dismissive wave, tossed my entire party out of the restaurant. It was shocking behavior, to say the least. Honestly, the WORST customer service I have ever witnessed. There are wonderful places to eat in the town, and within a 15 minute drive of the town in St.Remy and Eygalières. In fact, we wandered into the square after being shown the door and were greeted warmly by the owner of bistrot Marin. Big thumbs up for his place. Don 't waste your time or money at Aux Delices.
