That's something of a hidden gem! All that is within walking distance from my favorite Medellin hotel, Poblado Plaza, is immediately appealing. Friends tipped me to taste this restaurant and it was a find. I have to say I enjoyed the best food I've ever tasted in town. Elegant, a wide menu with an expensive but high quality wine selection. The group ordered a wide range of steak, shrimp, lobster and fish dishes with my tuna as well as anyone I've ever eaten. The ginger sauce was also delicious. Dessert offered such rarities as Rhabarbcake, while my wife really loved a dish as brown bread ice cream. Late in the meal, the boss/professor, Anita took time to visit the table and she was clearly a passionate and sincere practitioner of culinary art. Everything in an unforgettable evening. I must point out that decent bread in Colombia is very difficult to find. Here too, the gentle, cake offer was disappointing. Does no one in the city have a decent baguette or sourdough weaving?
I had read reviews that this was the best restaurant in Medellín, but I let myself be disappointed and with a much lighter wallet. The grissini, which came as a greeting, were accompanied by a sun-dried tomato dimmer with cream cheese, nothing special, then a very tasty bread that we found unusable. The langoustine Bisque was pleasant enough, but creamier than Bisque y, without the depth of the taste I hoped maybe my fault to order it in a city 500km from the sea. Our main course of Sesam tuna was well and well cooked, but let yourself be of a ridiculously sweet sauce, supposedly from ginger and orange, but overwhelmed by sweetness. Finally, about the cream Brulee, least said the better, granular and dense, none of the luscious creaminess you hope. Overall, I will not return although the 2012 Luis Cañas Reserva Rioja was delicious (there are no vintages in the wine list, I had to ask).
Anita came and made some suggestions, all of them were amazing options which we enjoyed immensely. This a great French restaurant in a delicate city of great people and service.
We held a breakfast meeting at this restaurant. I was impressed by the quality of food, the incredibly attentive service and their ability to accommodate the vegetarian in our group.
