Contribuisci feedbackAs trip advisor destination expert for Colombia, it is a joy to offer this balanced and accurate review. I have been travelling for 30 years to Colombia and in the last 4 years in medellin. I have traveled and explored. only around every area, every city and numerous small pueblos in Colombians than I can count. I have the time to understand the resources, the passion and experience to understand reasonable expectations when it comes to Colombian hotels, hostels, restaurants, bars, activities, dings to do and tour. I am pleased to review this iconic kinky restaraunt in centro on junin, the pedestrian only (no autos) road. necessary to buy yesterday november of the 7th in the nearby el hueco business district I parked my car in the garage directly around the corner and decided to enjoy a lunch. the place is iconic and has been here since the early 1960s and so they are lost in this restaurant back to a time. I had the menu of the day that cost 18,000 pesos. see my photos of my meal. the suppe was delicious, the brot fresh, the salat crisp and tasty, the fön fries hot and my meat was perfectly boiled on medium I ordered. the small plate of vanilleeis together with the coffee at the end was a good opportunity to finish the meal and my dear satisfied. the service was good, not big, but also not poor. I have stopped here before a handful of times in the run of the last 10 years, as my first visits to medellin, but this is my first real review of this legendary restaurant. the coffee and the baked, although I did not order this one, are all very good. yes I recommend this restaurant should visit them and in the environment. there are other possibilities close to, but as they see, I returned after a series of visits and recommend to try it out.
Wander around the city of medellin near the plaza botero and the berrio station, where the whole neighbourhood was built, with workers and machines everywhere we became a little hungry. so we decided on the advice of a tripadvisor review to visit the salon messlles. This...restaurant is one of the oldest in the city of medellin, and was founded in 1961 by argentine leonardo nieto as an ice salon and pastry shop, quickly becoming a popular spot, and also the first place in the city pizza to eat. today the ground floor entrance bakery counter sold, baked, moon-shaped pandeyucas, empanadas and croissants, behind is a caffe with stairs to a beautiful escap. we climbed the stairs into the restaurant and sat immediately from a very friendly waiter, in a very clean and satisfying room. the menu had many things to choose, but first we ordered a few club flowers, then a meat, cheese and speck burger, the court of the day, and do not know how big the empanadas were, two Chilean and two Argentinian. of course we took three back to our airbnb. the texture of the empanadas was different on both species, and since they were baked were not fried and tasted fantastic. the price for lunch was very reasonable and we will be back, tip: the food is served in very large portions, especially the empanadas, so hunger.
I came with some local friends to lunch, argentine empanadas and postre tres leches are the best! looking forward to the return! completely recommended.
This place is magic and the food is all delicious!! The service is great, very fast and efficient and all the staff are very charming! Prices are really good, you can get a hamburger at USD 4. And the best is the bakery which best...quality and prices of the city. Do not hesitate to go there when you get around the Medellin's downtown.
