But it took so long until the server came back after he broke it off that we ate everything else on the plate. We got a discount on the election time that was estimated. I think if the service had been faster, it would have been a pleasant meal, even if the steaks had to send back.
We had dinner at our 28. Celebrate anniversary, and it was great. Service and Meal were GREAT who made our celebration a great time. Thank you.
With a party of 6 for birthday dinner. The birthday boy had a gift voucher for the Tomahawk Steak he wanted to use. Last time he tried to use it, they said it Tomahawk was not available) The service started fine, but less attentive than the meal continued. Two people shared the Tomahawk Steak dinner. Two of us each had the 10oz Ribeye Steak, another had the spaghetti and meatballs, and the other meal was the seafood plate. All steaks were ordered in a rare medium, only the Tomahawk even comes close. The other two ribeyes were in the “good” area, carburized and had no pink at all. The couple that Tomahawk had said it was Bland and had better $5 steaks in other restaurants. The seafood plate with shrimp, salmon and lobster was also very dry and butter was not preserved for use with lobster. The spaghetti sauce was almost unexistent and the meatballs were also dry and tasteless. Did not even finish 1 of the 2 meatballs, as there was a lack of sauce and very dry. The chef's vegetables were 1/2 a small carrot cut in the longitudinal direction and a few broccolinis on the plates. The only thing that looked good was the first presentation, and then it was tasteless and downhill from there. The server seemed to disappear and we waited a few minutes to take the bills and a take-out box to take home the uneaten spaghetti meatballs, suspect they will put sauce and give the meatball some taste at home). After 3 rides we received the Takeout Box and invoices. To my surprise, it was a Ceasar cocktail $10,50! Overall summary...... moderate service, bad food preparation, no good value for money compared to other steak houses in medicine Hat, and will not have to go back.
I rarely ordered the Prime Rib special medium. The Yorkshire pudding was cold. The beautiful piece of the original rib was overcooked, gray in color and without any season. It looked like they cooked my nativity. How can you call yourself a steak house and not season your meat and not know how to cook it?
Not only was this combined pub and restaurant convenient to where I was staying, but it offered excellent food as well. Comfortable, relaxed, friendly, it is the sort of place I wish I owned a share of.
