Portello Rosso - Melbourne

The restaurant is charming, with a retro Spanish music vibe and a great selection of drinks and wine. However, the service is lacking. I was recommended a side dish that duplicated the potatoes already in the top-selling pork dish. The main pork dish took over 35 minutes to arrive, and was served partially cold. Despite being one of the first customers in the restaurant, it took 20 minutes to get someone's attention to pay. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant unless you are in no rush to dine.

On a recent trip to Melbourne, a friend and I decided to eat the very best food we could find - and we found it here at Portello Rosso! Every plate was absolutely scrumptious. We ordered off the menu rather than the degustation, and I would recommend the same for all who visit. We ordered as we ate our way through the menu, and rolled out of there some time later, over full but completely sated. The waitstaff are fabulous. They were attentive, but not pushy.

The taste of each dish was a delightful. Atmosphere energetic and staff very attentive. We stumbled upon this little gem and loved every mouthful. Thank you for a delicious evening out????

What an amazing restaurant! We all felt like tapas and came across Portello Rosso, and so glad we did! We didn't have a booking, and they were busy, but they accommodated us quickly after a few drinks at the bar upstairs. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was delicious!! The Spanish wine was even more delicious!! The restaurant itself was small but cosy and oh so cute. Highly recommend Portello Rosso, you wont be disappointed!

We have been here afew times - it's good quality and we always enjoy our meal but there's not much variation between visits. Don't get me wrong, the atmosphere is casual and social and fun and the food is good. Couldn't complain about the attentiveness of staff and the wine list is reasonable. The servings aren't large relative to cost but ultimately if you are inclined here on occasion then you may be alittle disappointed in the lack of change in the menu. It is still very good tapas style food and if you don't do that often then Portello Rosso is a great starting point.
