Spanky’s Roadhouse - Meridian Station

Great spot for drinks and convos with friends! Been here a couple of times and always enjoy the drinks. (Ask about the great cocktail selection!-the only sports bar I know of in Denver that doesn't just push beer) food is always fresh and hot, I wish they had a few more optons for vegetarians though..Kid-friendliness: This is a spot that I would feel comfortable bringing a kid. Welcoming, but definitely still a sports bar.

We dined at 6:45 on a Thursday and the restaurant was busy. The crowd was mostly DU students with a few families with children. Our server was attentive.We were seated right away at a high four top. The bar stools were uncomfortable because of the shallow depth of the seat and the height of the foot rest.The tables around us ordered a variety of drinks from the bar, and they all looked good. We ordered the carnitas nachos and Greek salad with gyro meat. All of the flavors were good, but the nachos were a little overdone with some of the chips on the dark side. I was surprised to see the nachos looked to be made with house made tortilla chips, but this didn't impact the dish negatively.Overall, it was a good dining experience, and we'll be eating here again.

Hidden gem near DU with friendly staff and decent menu. Several draft options were not available, hence 4 stars

Fish tacos were great! Friendly waitress. Too loud for our tastes on a Saturday night but that's just us.
