La Lupa Di Roma - Miami Beach

As I was walking by Lincoln Rd., La Lupa catches my attention right away. The inside is very cozy and the bottles of wine surrounded the restaurant for the 4 walls. As I sat down, I was asked immediately for drinks, and when I asked for wine, Flavio came and helped me. He asked several questions and after he knew what food we were eating he brought us the perfect wine, choosing from a list of over 500. I never, never had such a great combination of taste in my whole life, between the onion cooked in red wine and the octopus stuffed with bacon and potatoes. I was amazed by the service...it was attentive yet funny, and very respectful towards the sweet moment I was having with my girlfriend. She told me she never felt so important in a restaurant. To finish up my dinner, I ordered gelato. But do not worry about being bored with regular flavor. La Lupa , infact, following their innovative Italian cuisine, serves gelato of pineapple basil and rosmary. Sounded weird, but it was the most refreshing gelato I tasted. If you like restaurant and good food...visit La Lupa...and ask for Flavio. You will not be disappointed.

Best restaurant in town, feels like Italy. I am Italian and I try to eat there every time I have a chance! The restaurant is own and operated by a traditional Italian family, very nice and accommodating. The wine list is phenomenal with more than 400 wines to choose from. Trust me you should eat there at least once in your lifetime!!!

While staying in South Beach I had the opportunity to eat at Caffe La Lupa di Roma and what a wonderful Italian eatery... The service was fast and gracious and the food well, it was like being in Italy all over again. Let me suggest the chicken with pears mmmmm. The best part however for me was the pesto served with bread, the best! Unless you talk about the host, Flavio, a fun guy who makes you feel welcomed! A great place for great food, wine and people watching.

Here in Miami on vacation and we were out for a nice dinner on Lincoln. We 've eaten at Soprano 's previously and really enjoyed it. We nearly went back and after this experience with La Lupa di Roma, we were seriously regretting that decision to try something new. While the food wasn 't bad, it wasn 't great either but that 's not the reason for my poor review of the restaurant. We had a dish served that tasted completely off and was inedible. When we tried to have the dish swapped out for something else, the owner Momma came out and simply started berating us all. I am right and you are wrong. This is my best dish she kept repeating over and over. The one bite we tried constituted ruining her dish so she refused to exchange it. Not only did she refuse but the degree to which she tried to belittle us for even asking left us all bewildered. I 've heard service can be bad in Miami but have never been treated this poorly in any restaurant ever! And to top it off, they tried to charge a mandatory gratuity which I in turn mandated they remove. As a result, I certainly won 't be returning and will make certain everyone heading for Miami now knows about this place and how they like to treat their customers . Unbelievable!

The owner always treats me very well. In fact I call ahead to make sure that she has the homemade gnocci for my arrival. And she always makes them fresh for me. Tell your friends!
