I hear it's getting very crowded, but we were there around pm, and it was small empty. of course would go back for this wonderful healing suppe!
There was a queue of people when I went. We only have to wait for minutes. The place is packed full of locals and you quickly get to understand why. The food here is delicious, I recommend the quesadillas and the chicken salad.
Caldos Leo is a classical, homie place for chicken soup in Mexico City. You can get virtually any sort of chicken soup variant, you can pick which chicken piece you want in your bowl, etc. Place is very clean and staff really friendly. This is...not a fancy place but a very classy Mexican restaurant.
I have walked past the Leo many times on weekend afternoons, and after seeing people waiting outside for a table, I go next door to Riesi and get seated immediately. Yesterday we went to Leo on a weekday afternoon and were seated right away,...with fast and attentive service. The chicken soups are fantastic, as are sopes, tostadas, and enchiladas. The mole sauce, however, left me feeling a bit unsettled.
Similiar to Riesi, its a good choice for lunch at office meal hours. the only bad thing is a 10 min wait list at rush hours.
