Wonderful local gem. One of the oldest beer gardens in the country. Small but solid food menu, and they do have wine, soda, and water if you can't drink beer. Right next to the river and a waterfall, as well as a playground for the kids. On weekends they have live music, and it's right by the bike trail.
Wanted to like it, but the food was terrible. 1 star for the beer, 2 for the atmosphere, but 0 for food. Great space in the park and near the river. Was there while a small polka band played as well. Beer served in steins was also a plus. Our group ordered brats, a hot dog and a giant pretzel. The pretzel was hard as a rock and the brats were fine, but they must have been wrapped up for a while since the buns were all soggy. Daughter did not care for the hot dog either. It?s too bad for what we paid how mediocre it was.
Very nice place to spend an afternoon. We were there on a Sunday and it was relatively busy. The parking lot fills up fast as the beer garden is near the playgound, soccer field, skate park, and there is a path leading down to the river. They also have the Bubblr Bike Rental at the entrance near the parking lot. Great way to spend sometime outdoors!
Nice outdoor venue with many covered tables. Some have overhead heaters to help with cooler evenings. Riverwest N/A is available. Menu is very limited, but brats are good and soft pretzels are outstanding. Often there is live music, usually solo or a double. Friday fish fry is excellent. Recommended.
