Delicious! The baked bride appetizer was really good: Baguette, Brie and Marmelade all together really nice. My sister and I both have the pastiche burgers, and it was juicy and the cheese and garlic aioli were delicious flavors beside the beef. Fries were perfect and the recommended Aioli dip for the frits was surprisingly great. And our waiter was funny and took care of us all the time. Overall an excellent experience. The prices are high, but not outside the line with all the other places in downtown Milwaukee that we have carried out. Very recommended!
Very nice setting, celebrated my grandparents 50th anniversary here. We were a group of 17 and we booked an amazing private room. The waitress herself was very friendly and nice although she was very fast and it was hard to get her attention. I like the scallops and prawn dish I got myself. I tried my brothers steak though and it was very tough and chewy. Also he asked medium well and it came out as more medium cooked. The chicken though, was probably the worst dish. I tried a little bit and it was very bland. The lemon tart was good but kind of lacking flavor. However, the creme brûlée was out of this world! I did a family brunch here a few years ago also and it was spectacular. Overall a great place and I will be hosting more events in the future. I do recommend.
Nice place, retro chic. Service was kind of off for todays visit. Chef didn 't have the fryer on so our fries were substantially late compared to the main entre. Was never even offered a refill on beverage that depleted 1/2 way through meal. Was prior to lunch rush so not like they were too busy.
Hotel Metro's breakfast used to be one of my favorite places in Milwaukee. The decor was classy and comfortable and the menu had so many delicious options. Once the restaurant turned into the Pastiche, I was excited to try out the new menu. Walking in, the whole decor looked shabby, the comfortable seating was gone, and everything looked darker and old. I used to love the big cups of coffee they used to serve but now it was a tiny French serving with maybe 4 or 5 sips of coffee. The menu had very few options but I decided to try the brie omelette (which doesn't come with breakfast potatoes). It was extremely thin, oily, and burned on the edges. There was no flavor. A side of fruit was served and it was a fruit cup of pre-chopped fruits that you apparently eat with a spoon...not very appetizing for breakfast and really strange. I felt like I was ordering off of the senior menu. I'm very disappointed in the Pastiche and now have one less place to go to breakfast in Milwaukee.
