Personally, I was impressed by the attention to detail in the furnishings. They could easily cut costs in many areas, but they have chosen quality items such as high-speed wifi, Kyoto Nishikawa blankets, and a Balmuda toaster. Even the towels, shampoo, and hand soap are carefully selected. The renovated restrooms are also clean, while the bath is a bit old-fashioned but still clean and provides hot water immediately. With plenty of hot springs and public baths nearby, it could be a great addition to your travel plans. I would love to stay here again, perhaps when I climb Mount Kaimon next time.
I stayed at a guesthouse during a family trip to the southern part of Satsuma. I went with the expectation of just staying somewhere decent, but was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and the relaxing scent of cedar throughout the room. There was strong attention to detail in the toiletries, towels, and kitchen supplies, which made me feel like I was experiencing a bit of luxury. The owner also runs a cafe that focuses on dashi, and I learned how to make a delicious "shabu-shabu" using their special dashi at night. I even bought some dashi packs to make it at home. It's a bit inconvenient to drive about 10 minutes to the nearest supermarket, but the peaceful location makes it worth it. My children were also pleased, so I would love to visit again.
My relative's house has been revived as a guest house, attracting interest from the younger generation, and my aunt must be delighted to have been spared from demolition. I have visited this house many times when my aunt lived here, and it brings back fond memories. By the way, is the entrance from the side of the Aishop? Please continue to work hard to attract tourists to the town of Ishigaki.
