The service at this restaurant was amazing. Kelly provided excellent service. The food was delicious, with large portions and served quickly. The only downside was that the rice was overly sweet, which I did not enjoy. Overall, it was a great dining experience.
The thing I like about Rojo is consistency regardless of which location I go to, the food is the same. I would have given it a higher rating, but the new feature of a guitarist/singer (with a really bad voice) totally ruined it for me. I was having a nice conversation with normal voice control, then all of a sudden this bad singer, that was rather loud interrupted the free flowing conversation.
The food was amazing. Normally I'm not a big fan of the rice and beans offered at most Mexican restaurants, but Rojo's rice and beans were out of the world. My wife was surprised by how well they tasted too. Our entrees were both great. We will be coming back.
They sat us nest to the door and it was positively polar every time someone came in or left. I tried to mitigate the vortex by raising the hood on my parka, and thought this might intimate our discomfort, but finally stated that we needed to move. Our waitress (a paragon of virtue) moved us right away. Then minutes later someone else was seated at our old table demonstrating the vacuity of the taciturn matradee. It's ironic that you can freeze in a restaurant featuring food from a warm country. The food itself was mundane fare and came quickly. The ambiance was dull and a little noisy. A man was playing guitar and singing, and he was super nice, but hard to listen too because of a poor sound system. We decamped to the mall to which the restaurant was anchored as soon as we could. This may have been a one-off experience and the restaurant was at least serviceable so we might try returning for tacos for lunch during the summer.
