This is NOT a Black-owned Soul Food restaurant even though it 's in a prodomitly Black neighborhood. Disappointed is an understatement. Got this recommendation from our hotel for a good soul food place which couldn 't be furest from the truth.Food was bland unseasoned at best, green peas/green beans seemed poured right out the can, heated and served, meat/fish didlook good fresh but is flavorless, corn bread was dry and like hockey pucks, tarter sauce was not made from scratch and thesliced cake seemed to be box cake also not from scratch. Sandwiches ???? were not available despite a full list of them on themenu. And if you 're ordering catering from here, the lemonade is NOT fresh squeezed, it 's Minute Maid from the soda machine witha few pieces of old lemon slices, that are sitting out, on the counter, by the ice tea canisters, just dropped in the gallon jug shaken up. Lastly, no one on the line was wearing gloves and was handling hot food. In short, this is basic cafeteria stylefood at a higher price.
Everything is always hot, well seasoned and great tasting. The chicken salad in the grab go case is fantastic!
Short trip to Montgomery and lunch at Derek?s Filet and Vine. First timer and it didn?t disappoint.
I have lived all over the country and eaten at many places . This place is easily top 3 places I?ve ever eaten at. Always fantastic food, always consistent food and always great service. BEST PLACE IN MONTGOMERY HANDS DOWN!!!!!!!!! 10/10
