However, if the quality and size of their other dishes are similar to the fish, it is definitely worth it. I am looking forward to going back to Halal 786 to try their other dishes, especially since they have specials like chicken biryani for $4.50 on Thursdays.
After a long time, a satisfying visit in a subcontinental restaurant. beautiful setup and delicious food. crisp, warm naan with paya and kalb karahi, followed by gulabjamun was a perfect end for a day trip to mont tremblant. the food was very happy. not too expensive.
There for lunch and had super lamb biryani with minze sauce. definitiw above average how the lamb really tasted like lamb! (in some places they are not quite sure nan brot super and rice wonderful. we must return to dinner soon. excellent service and good prices.
We were five, and ordered a full huhn chargha, fried fish, daal maische, hühnertikka and lammkarahi. the tanduri roti (backed flat brot) was very fresh and crispy. Waiting time was normal. everything was fresh, children loved that huh. After eating we had...gulab jamun and ras malai. I also ordered additional huh and ras malai. it was a good experience.
786 moved a couple of months ago from the up the stairs a bit dingy location on Jean-Talon to close by street level twice the size new place. What was surprising was the lack of customers in the restaurant on a Thursday! It’s very spacious...and looks “new” but with that comes the raising of the prices on the menu. 2$ extra for the beloved Lahore Fish fry! The extra coriander on top was a nice touch and let’s be honest that fish fry is Amazing! The Raita equally great and we got the bindi (Okra dish with fresh slices of ginger. That with hot nan bread and a Mango Lassi as a finish it was a feast! There’s always the great service lots of staff and quick service. You can expect approx. 30$ per person and although it’s more than before it’s well worth it the food is just as tasty! My only observation is that they might have to adjust their prices if their loyal customer don’t come as regularly and the place is empty on a regular basis that might be a clear message...
